Vendor FAQ

Vendor FAQ

Everything you need to know about selling on Munchor Market.

Getting started

Who can sell on Munchor Market?

Home cooks, bakers, private chefs, caterers, and small food businesses. You must be 18+, able to legally sell food in your area, and able to fulfill the orders you accept. Every application is reviewed before approval.

How do I sign up?

Apply on the Vendor Sign Up page. Registration takes about 5 minutes, and most accounts are approved within 24 hours.

Do I need a business license or permit?

That depends on your city and state. Many vendors operate under cottage food laws, which allow certain foods to be made in a home kitchen β€” but the rules (allowed foods, sales caps, labeling) vary widely. You are responsible for knowing and following your local requirements. When in doubt, contact your county health department.

What does it cost?

Joining is free β€” no monthly fees. We charge 5% commission on card orders paid through Munchor checkout, 8% on cash/payment-app orders you collect at pickup, and 10% on Srvd Gigs event bookings.

Orders & checkout

How does checkout work for my customers?

Munchor's Food Hall cart is split by vendor. A customer can browse multiple vendors, but each vendor's items check out separately β€” your order shows your shop's info, your delivery/pickup options, and comes to you directly. You never share an order with another vendor.

How do I set up delivery and pickup?

In your seller dashboard you control your own shipping/delivery zones, rates, and store pickup locations. Set your pickup address and hours under your shop settings, and your delivery areas under shipping. These show to customers on your storefront, product pages, and at checkout.

How do I know when I get an order?

You'll get an email notification for every order, and all orders appear in your seller dashboard where you can update their status through handoff.

Getting paid

When and how do I get paid?

Getting you to your money is the whole point of Munchor. Three lanes:

  • Card orders (Food Hall & your storefront): automatic payouts β€” your earnings (minus 5%) are deposited to your bank, typically within 2–5 business days of the order.
  • Srvd Gigs bookings: half your pay up front. When your bid is accepted and the client pays, 50% of your share is released within 48–72 hours of funds clearing β€” shopping and prep money, before the event. The balance releases within 48–72 hours after your event wraps clean.
  • Cash/app at pickup: you collect directly; our 8% commission is invoiced weekly.
How do Srvd Gigs bids and payouts work?

Bid on any open gig from the gig page. If the client accepts, Munchor invoices them directly β€” you never chase payment. Once they pay: you get a 50% advance within 48–72 hours to shop and prep, and the balance within 48–72 hours after the event (events are complete 48 hours after the event date unless the client raises a dispute). Munchor's gig fee is 10%; you keep 90%. Full details β€” including cancellation rules and the no-show policy β€” are in the Srvd Gigs Booking Agreement, which you accept by bidding. All gig payments must flow through Munchor.

Food safety & compliance

What are my food safety responsibilities?

You are solely responsible for safe preparation, storage, packaging, and handoff. That includes temperature control, clean workspace, and secure packaging. Munchor Market is a platform β€” we don't prepare or inspect food, so this responsibility sits with you. See the Marketplace Terms.

Do I have to list ingredients and allergens?

Yes. Every listing must accurately describe the item and disclose major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, sesame). If your kitchen handles allergens, say so β€” e.g. β€œprepared in a kitchen that also processes nuts.”

What happens if I get a complaint?

Resolve it directly with the customer first β€” your refund/remake policy is yours to set (post it on your shop profile). We may step in on unresolved disputes, and we can pause or remove listings or accounts for safety issues or repeated complaints.

Managing your shop

How do I update my menu, logo, hours, or policies?

Everything is managed from your seller dashboard: products, prices, photos, shop logo and banner, description, pickup hours, and your store policy shown to customers.

Can I pause my shop (vacation, sold out)?

Yes β€” set items out of stock or contact us to temporarily hide your storefront. Better to pause than to miss orders.
